And I recently mailed off my mothers silverware service to antique cupboard after watching a video that Phil made, anyway I was a little unsure selling to someone out of state and also someone I didn't know but mom has to go into a nursing home and I am trying to make sure there will always be money for her if needed so I gave this a shot. I was told after UPS picked up my order it would be about 10 days turn around for me to receive my check and on the 10th day there it was. Antique Cupboard bought my great-grandmother's monogrammed Gorham Fairfax from me at a good price. I'd gotten an estimate from my local coin dealer, who pays relatively well (about 65% of spot* - and silver prices were very high at the time), and Phil offered me 24% more than that. * [When you consider that sterling is 92.5% silver, and the smelter has overhead costs, and the coin dealer needs a cut, the 65% is better than it sounds at first.]
Phil's offer came a week after I sent him an email describing the silver pieces, with pictures. After I sent him the silverware, payment came in record time, so fast I couldn't believe it - I think it was the very next day after my UPS shipment had been scheduled to arrive in Wisconsin.
It had been more convenient for me to send it myself rather than use their offer of free UPS pick-up. I sent in the receipt for my shipping cost and that was reimbursed generously! I'd contacted three other silver matching services. The email to one bounced back, to another was never answered, and the third wanted me to send the the silverware before they would make an offer.
